To download a copy for your panel model, go to the User Manual section of the DSC website and find the model of your panel. However, if you use DSC model PC4020, which has an LCD keypad with fixed displays, instead of displaying numbers, it will spell out the trouble condition. Your keypad will then display a trouble code number or illuminate a certain zone, which has a corresponding meaning in the trouble code table in the User Manual. Will I have issues with that if I disable the ADT system? There is another AC-powered Kidde unit right next to it on the ceiling, so I'm not too worried about that one alarm itself not working - mainly about setting some alarm off by disabling the ADT, or disabling all the other AC-powered smoke alarms in the house.įinally - the town where I live offers direct fire/burglary monitoring through their police dept.

I should note that there is also a smoke alarm on the ceiling of the main floor that looks like it was likely installed by ADT (it's not a store-bought standard alarm). So now I am worried that if I disable the ADT system, will that prevent my AC smoke/CO alarms from working properly, or cause them to sound warning beeps etc? I say this because when I tested the alarm in the basement (they look like standard ceiling-mounted Kidde alarms), the ADT panel started lighting up and the voice 'Fire!' warning actually came from the ADT panel. However, this home has AC smoke/fire detectors and they appear to have been wired through the ADT panel. My previous home had a Slomin's system so I think I can disable the ADT system by unplugging the AC outlet and then removing the backup battery wires from the main box (once I can find it, have not located it yet!).

I have not turned it on and have no intention of using ADT at the moment. I recently purchased a new home which has an ADT alarm system pre-installed. I'm sure it's something really simple that I'm missing but any help would be appreciated as this is driving me crazy. According to the manual a crescent moon should show up in the top right corner of my RFK5501 keypad indicating night arm is enable but that does not happen it just beeps and nothing changes on the LCD. Anyways my zone programming was as followsĪfter that I armed the system in 'Stay' mode and then push *1 to enable night arm but it doesn't appear to be activing. So in regular 'Stay' Mode I want all interior motion shut off and then when in 'Night Arm' I want the basement motion turned back on but living room motion turned off as I might come down at night to get a glass of water or something. One thing I searched for and believe I followed all the directions correctly in setting up is the night arm feature. It's my first time posting here but I used this site a lot in getting my new alarm setup.
